We had an awesome baptism yesterday. I followed my family as my father was the worship leader that night. I was surprised with the turnout of so many people. It is very encouraging to see many chinese christians getting together. We all sang some Mandarin songs and then had a word from our Pastor, David Kueh. He shared just a simple clear message about the meaning of baptism. After that, Ps.Kueh and Uncle Frank went into the baptism pool first. One by one about fourteen of them were baptise in the name of the Father, The Son , and the Holy Spirit. More christian songs were being sung after the baptism. We had a small reception compromising of different types of local delicacies or in malay we call them "Kuih". Although they were food laid on the table, the our family and the Tabuan Heights care group instead went to a local hawker centre and ordered several local dishes to celebrate the baptism of the three members in our care group which is Mei(i think), Aunty Evelyn, and Joe Joe koko(brother). We ate Tomato Noodles, Tomato Kueh Tiaw(broad noodles), and also fried noodles. There was also a Baptism Cake ( sort of a birthday cake instead) to celebrate their spiritual birthday (sort of).
Here are some pictures of the baptism and gathering:
