Updates Galore!!!

So yeah, nothing much has been happening in my "oh boring semester" till this week. Firstly, my friends and I celebrated Melvin's Birthday. I think this is the first birthday i planned together with the others, mainly, Brenda, Seraphina and Debbie (and abit of Kip Loong) . It went well and it was so fun. Here's the account of the surprise party from the point of my view.

Past Ten O'Clock,Friday night,August 7th 2009 We came back from the mee stall and we suddenly thought about Melvin's Birthday. With all our minds put together , we put forth a brilliant masterpiece of ideas on what to buy and etc. But one idea prevailed! It was to sabo Melvin!

Definition of sabo according to me: Sabo, short form of sabotage. In this case we were to sabotage him by playing a prank!

We really wanted to throw a cake so badly. Suddenly , it inspired a cake involving expired mee sua, lots of whipped cream and the ever sticky cake. Modus Operandi succeeded!

2pm, Bintang Mall, August 11th 2009

We bought the main pressies which are the maroonish brown fedora, fantastical board shorts, and the phone cover which i was to blinged with the M. That very night, i finished bling-ing the phone. I must say it's not a bad job for a first-timer for me. It was done freestyle ok? i must show the picture later. hehe.

Thursday Morning-ish, Campus, August 13th 2009

We had to make a sudden change of plans as most of our friends couldn't make it on friday as they are busy with meetings. Hence, we decided to pull the prank at midnight. First thing first, The cake! Thanks to Brenda and her awesome metal steed Kenari, we went to Southern and GK to buy the magic candles and whipped cream. Onwards , we bought both the real blackforest and the to-be-set-up-as-a-fake green pandan sponge cake from Hot Cross Buns. I so "heart" their cake boxes. At 7 pm, We took 1 hour and 30 minutes to finish making the sabo-cake. Firstly, set the pandan sponge cake at the center and stuff it with expired mee sua.

Add some egg to make it stickier!

Next, Spray generous amount of whipped cream and spread it as smoothly as you can! I know it looks gross. But trust me, in the end it looks really good. And oh yah, make sure you NEVER EVER buy low fat whipped cream, u need the fat to prevent it from melting too fast (like ours :( ). Get the bood baking whipped cream with sugar in it for good measure.

Next, prepare expired peaches and slice it into equal strips. Then, arrange it neatly to form a pretty circular shape. Glaze it with the remaming peach syrup in the tin but firstly reduced over fire till it is more viscous. Crush some biscuits(we used chipsmore), and pat it around the sides of the cake. Then, do the side decors!!Be Creative!

Our final product with the real cake. Not too bad aye? MOST ppl THOUGHT IT WAS FROM THE BAKERY! High five to us. Not bad for a first try using expired goods. haha.

After that, we left for lakeside apartment at around 11.15 pm using Brenda's, Dhimas's, and Amalina's cars coz of the large number of friends going to surprise him. The plan: 1.Called Darrold to come down. Made sure Jacky(melvin's roommate and friend)prevents Melvin from coming out. 2. All the friends and classmates gathers at the ground floor ( Melvin stays at the top floor) 3. All went upstairs. Brenda holds fake cake. Called Jacky out at 12 midnight. 4. Went through the hallways. Closed the corridor lights. Jacky re-enters room and switch off lights. Melvin surprised!

EUREKA!!!!The Plan worked like a charm. Melvin was too happy that he cried shout for joy! We sang the b'day song and brought him to the common room/kitchen. After the song finish, Melvin blew the candles and Brenda plops the cake on Melvin's face. Shrieks of laughter and happiness pierce through the room. Hahahah. It was funny. Melvin went about hugging others with his cake-meesua-egg-cream face and shirt. Next, he went to the bathroom to change while we set-up the real cake and presents. As Melvin wasn't having his phone , we attached the blinged phone cover for him. He was really really surprised again. This time on the real cake though we placed magic candles. Those candles won't even snuff out if you blew them. WElL almost! Technically that is what was said on the box. But we found out that the candles can be blown out if you blew realy really really hard!. He took a whole 5 minutes i guess to snuff it out. Our motivation: He won't get his wishes till he blow them out. I think that was like out sabo number two. After that was the cake-cutting session and fellowship. Ended with basketball and the thunderstorm. Pics time! Credits to Seraphina! worst thing is that he ate the some of the cake. Hope he doesn't lao sai now. ahahaha

That's basically about the party. Anyway, this morning i attended the Curtin Art and Dance club. One thing led to another, and i was appointed to be Dance Instructor for line dance. It's kinda exhilirating at the same time more of a challenge. I have to introduce this dance which is quite relatively new but i have to bring the fun side to youths. I can't use slow dances anymore. Well, i'm up for it and i hope to change the dance scene in curtin. It's always hip hop/breakdance. Why can't we have a little more fun doing the funk/pop/jazz/swing etc into it. I wanna show that all people can dance. Thank you God for the opportunity. As the club is relatively newly form, they are opening up to all kind of dance lessons. I'm glad to be a part of the team. Curtin ppl, care to join? :)
