Dedication to Grandmas.............

*warning very long post*

A GRANMOTHER'S LOVE

A Grandmother's love is like no other.
It is even greater than a mother's
because a grandmother has the greater suffer.
And she will always be the one who is tougher.

A grandmother's love is like no other's.
It's even greater when you have no sister's or brother's.
She helps you when your feelings are a twister.
And she will calm you soon when there are mister's.

A grandmother's love can never be broken.
And she is a woman who can never be out spoken.
You will have all these gifts that where tokens of her love.
Her love is a choice it's not just because your there.

You know that she would never hurt you, not a single hair.
Everytime she's around you she tries her hardest to never swear.

*sob, what a touching poem*

Yah, i was very busy this week so i couldn't blog about anything. For those who didn't know, my grandmother(paternal) passsed away on the fateful day, 13th August 2006. To me, my
grandmother is closer to me to my other grandma(maternal) although i visit the one on my maternal side more. When i was young, i remembered that i was really cared over by her. She would cook lunch and embraced me when i returned after my kindergarten schooling. She also loves to make me drink honey ( maybe that's the reason.ehehhehe). When i sleep, she would caress my head gently while rubbing my hair. I really miss those loving touches from her. Somehow, she also loves to rub her hand on my arms too. Little did I know my grandmother was gonna pass away so soon.

On that fateful night, i was at home getting ready to sleep when suddenly my parents told me that my grandma passed away. Earlier that morning i knew she had a coma but i thought comas usually take a long time to recover so i need not to worry about visiting her. But i was proved wrong. Anyway, my father and mother couldn't reach there yet coz my aunty was at the airport and needs transport. My grandmother died in a way that one would want to died in that way(read slowly~haha). At the hospital bed, Aunty Siew Ling and Aunty Mary Hiu who are both from the chinese church came for a visit. Both of them are very close to my grandma though their age gap was so far apart. Weeks ago, i was told that both of them laid beside my grandma and talk to her. Like a mother and daughter. Back to the story, both of them sang " kan guo eh chiew" which means 'look at my hands' (God's hands). After the song, my grandma got into a seizure and then died peacefully........

Well ppl from all over Kuching visited us the following night. I wasn't sad actually coz i know my grandma would be in Heaven. But on the funeral day, i did cried reminiscing the moments i had with her. The chinese songs were very touching too. Nevertheless, i could recover quickly coz i know i need not to worry about dying. Death is just a short-stop before you go to heaven. I know and have the assurance that my grandma is in Heaven. It is not for long my whole family will be seeing her in heaven.

Anyway, here's a Eulogy about my grandma which was spoken by my Dad on the Funeral day........

Eulogy

Good afternoon , friends and relatives, brothers and sisters in Christ. Firstly, I want to thank you all for taking your precious time today to commemorate my mother’s life with us.

Thank you so much for your love, encouragement and support. We are so thankful we are knitted together in the Big family of God.

There is so much to say about my mother. How can I do it in 10 or 15 mins? Most of you may not know this- she is my step mother. My own natural mother died when I was about 5 years of age.

Even though she was my stepmother, she lovingly took care of us as her own children. Her own natural son is Cheng Lee Ming. If you ask me what is the one thing that I want to remember about her, I would say this: Her sacrificial love for all of us. I will always treasure her love and I believe my sister and brother would agree with me too.

We didn’t come from a very well to do family. She had to help to supplement the household income by taking extra jobs such as washing clothes for people and also peeling prawn shells.

Some of us here might have eaten prawn crackers at Rex Theatre coffee shops many years back. Who knows? Those peeled prawn could be the ones that had their shell removed by my mother.

I believed the most joyous time for her was after she became a Christian. She found her hope in Christ and was able to unload her burdens to Him.

Even though, she was stricken with a number of illness, she always find her strength in worshipping the Lord. She loves to worship the Lord together with the uncles and aunties from our Hokkien church. Her favorite song is Chin Jia Ho and Shang Ti She Wo men De Bi Nan Shuo.

She often requested me to bring her to the Hokkien church. Even when she was very weak in her last lap of her life, she managed to have two memorable worship time with the Hokkien brethren.

Many brothers and sisters had come alongside to encourage and ministered to my mother. We treasure all your prayers and your helps to us in one way or another.

We want to especially acknowledge two sisters in Christ who sacrificed so much of their time for her. They had become her special friends and “daughters” in the last days of her life. They are Sister Siew Ling and Sister Mary Hiu. Praise God for their ministry.

The Lord has also open doors for them to minister to some old folks in the Lions Nursing Home. A number of them has come to know the Lord.

My mum was prepared to meet with her Savior. She was not afraid dying. As a believer, she knew she would live again because Jesus Christ said that He is the Resurrection and the Life. Death is just a temporary separation. We will see her again when we meet her in heaven.

Talking about going home to be with the Lord, Mum and I prayed a number of time for this matter. One time she had a dream. She dreamt she was following behind a man dressed in white but the man told her not to follow her and then gave her a kick. She began to fall into a deep hole and then she found herself back on the hospital bed.

On Sunday 13th August 2006, as I was about to wake up from my sleep, I had a vision of my mum smiling and waving goodbye to me. Then during the English service time I received a call from the Nursing home that my mum was in coma and needed to be hospitalized. She passed away peacefully at 10.15pm.

We would like to thank everybody for your presence here with us. We pray the Lord Jesus Christ will reveal more and more of Himself to you. May you find the eternal life in God promised to everyone through Jesus Christ.

In the midst of everything that goes by so so fast, the Lord knows best. May He be the comfort of yr heart and bringing peace to you. He knows everything and all the timing. There’s seasons of everything, grow, stagnant, declining, wither, regardless, He is still our strong tower and refuge.

Nice right????
Anyway, it was really a "silver lining in every dark cloud" . From the death of my grandme, finally my aunty accepted Jesus Christ into her life.

Praise JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
