Dinner With my Family

Last Sunday, my mom treated our whole family to a buffet at Ristorante Beccari. One of the best Italian Restaurants. Its my reward for the SPM result and also as a farewell dinner. They say, pictures speaks a thousand words. So i'll let the pictures to do the talking.

Whenever you go for italian cuisine, remember that small quantity is the best policy as each food is quite rich.

P/s: i'll try to add in the captions later. Not much time as i am busy packing.

Might be the last nice dinner with my family.

This afternoon went to watch the movie "the dark knight" with Ivan and Colin. Very psychotic and heartless movie. I suggest not bringing children as its mainly for mature audience.

Anyway i would be leaving for Miri early morning this Saturday. If you wanna see me off, message me and i will tell you the details. The emo-ness is not very strong right now but i try to look forward to the holidays.

Anyway, tata for now.

Angels Visitation

Received this in an email today. It so happens there are angel visitations in a christian meeting in Surabaya, Indonesia which is the hotspot for christians there. Praise God! None of the photos are digitally enhanced or disturbed.

Angels appear in Indonesian Church

A fellow in Indonesia named Jimmy sent me the below photo with this explanation:

'I herewith send you a picture of seven Angels appeared at an
International Church Growth Seminar, July 1 - 4, 2002, in Surabaya ,
Indonesia . The Angels were dancing in front of the stage during
praise and worship session; Nobody knew until the film was processed
and printed. I was sent this picture by a friend & there is no camera
trick !!! I think that I need to send you this picture to be shared
with others ... what a tremendous joy !!! God bless & Maranatha.'

(He also gave the URL for the church http://www.bethanygraha.org/

Since I do not really know Jimmy, and even though I had no reason to
doubt, I preferred some confirmation of such an astonishing
phenomenon, so I inquired of a missionary/evangelist friend, Darrel
Stott, who spends a lot of time in Indonesia and knows many people
there. Darrell replied that he frequently ministers in that particular
church, and said:

'It would be credible from my opinion. The biggest change in my last
two trips was angelic activity in the meetings and increase in
physical healings. In various meeting, groups of young adults came to
the front and pointed and talked to the angels as I ministered. They
spoke in a language that sounded like tongues to the angels but they
also could understand each other in this tongue as they spoke to the
angels.'

The photograhper who took these shots was not aware that he had
captured angels until he developed the photos. These were captured
some six or seven years ago when digital photos were no common yet.
(The church group had just completed building an orang asli church and
was holding a prayer meeting at the church which was not yet painted
and had no furniture).

Judge for yourself: [strangely only mozzila can view the pictures,
somebody help me make it IE compatible?]

Pot Bless with Embacy

Last Sunday , the youths from my church [Embacy] organized a pot bless to celebrate my "departure" and to celebrate Hannah's Birthday. I went there after church with the Gee Sisters. Along the way, Gordon offered us a ride when we were walking to Uncle's House.

Had a fun time talking to everybody and receive a lot of well wishes. Going to miss the bunch of them. Been in Embacy for 6 years, and i enjoy every minute of it being in God's presence and serving in the music ministry. Now, there will be another Embacy band in Miri, as some of the youths are pursuing their studies there too. I had no idea they would even organize a pot bless for me . I thought i will just leave quietly. Haha. Thank you very much guys and gals. I will miss you all. [emo mode again XD]. The birthday girl which is Daniel's sister, received a cake and a lollipop. Haha. It reminds us all about the lollipop girl in Kung Fu hustle. Anyway, here are some candid shots.

My solemn church . Nah, they were all reading the announcements on the bulletin.

Another picture. The last day in church

Church has really grown. Give it another year or two i won't be surprised that our Saturday Night Service would be this big too. So far we have more than 1000+ people counting in all the different congregation. For a small place like this, its amazing.

Now, for the candid shots at the pot bless:

Silly me that day but i keep on forgetting to take picture of the food and the other youths. Actually got around 20++ ppl there. Don't let the pics fool you.

To burn up all that fat, i went as usual to the Ebc Line Dance. Last time there.

And oh , i was surprised to see more younger people and MEN joining Line Dance. Yay~

All the little things i enjoy will be the things i miss in kuching.

Eat, Ate, Eaten

Sigh~ *breathe in breathe out* Sigh~
I shall be leaving for miri soon. Very soon in fact. I am only about 5 days away from another town in Kuching, a place where i will be studying for a few years. I am feeling homesick [not the sick-of-home kind] when i haven't even step foot into Miri. I will miss my family especially and church friends, uncles and aunties. I think i would cry before i fly off. Kuching is very much a place i've grown up in for so long and familiar with. The only thing with me that will accompany me in miri is God and home memorablilias. Gosh. Feeling so emo now.

Past few day i've been attending a couple of pot bless in honour of me leaving Miri which made me even more reluctant to leave Kuching. I think i'll break it into a few parts so that the post won't be so lengthy.

Last Saturday, the aunties from EBC Line Dancing Ministry organized a pot bless for me. Being the last time i will be cooking for pot bless i was determined to prepare the best dish i could. Armed with a cooking spatula and sister peeling the potatoes we cooked up the best Shepherd's pie. This time with vintage cheddar cheese and lea perrin's Worcestershire's Sauce. It was so delicious.

Around 7.45 we started eating and enjoying each other's recipe. Before that, the aunties gave a huge ang pao and a card. That's so nice of you aunties. I really appreciate it. Took some group photos and enjoy ourselves. Being Line Dancing Kakis, naturally we dance after we ate. Had also a good karaoke session. Its amazing how young and old can connect despite age. Being with them for 3 years in EBC Line Dance i really learn a lot. Especially to reach out to people about christ through dance

Here are some photos:

Other day i made a Chocolate Vanilla Smoothie.

The Ingredients [Clockwise]-Ice, Magnolia's Chocolate drink[ i was lazy to make my own], Oats[secret Ingredients], Vanilla Ice Cream

All Blended

Finished Product

The secret to have a robust and nice thick smoothies are actually the cereal and good fatty milk[full cream]. I like my chocolate with oats however you can use wheatgerm or barley wheat. I think it would work as well.

Anyways back to my emo mode. Sigh really feel reluctant. Donno what to expect on the rollercoaster of college life. Do pray for me. I heard where i am staying the place is quite dangerous. My sister is hugging and kissing me everyday coz she say she will miss me. Sigh double emo mode liao. Kinda hard studying the SPM books. It seems i can still relatively remember the stuff except add maths though haven't been putting my brain in good use. Hmmm?

I miss my family and Kuching......

[emoing out] :(

I am so loving A1 curry paste.

SO easy leh. Just heat some oil and add the instant curry paste[i like to mix it with a little water] and fry till its red oil breaks out from paste [pecah minyak] . Add more water till the paste is thick and add the fish. Add tamarind[asam jawa] and then simmer till the fish cook.

SO SYIOK!!!!!!!

I love A1!!!!!!

Donut and Popcorn don't mix

Had a short outing this afternoon with Kathryn , Florence, and Lu Yi who are back in Kuching because of their hols. Florence as usual was the driver and she fetch me around 2.45 pm. Then we head on to The Spring. Along the way we talk about hotel management as Lu Yi is studying it in Switzerland. And yeah, we talk about swiss chocolates too. Lu Yi complain there's nothing to eat there.

Initially we wanted to go starbucks but in the end we went to big apple donuts instead. Had a fair share of donuts while chit-chatting various topcis. Like all "smart" kids we talk about school/college life, accidents that happen in Green Road, how the donut is made [very interesting to watch], BF/GF, racist topics, life in miri kl and swiss, church, etc.. Practically a Poh-Pek session. The highlight was when Kathryn and Lu Yi complain that the chocolate donut was rancid whereas Florence and I declared it wasn't. The reason? They never eat ciplak chocolate so they can't accept the flavour. It taste exactly like the choco-choco chocolate it those long small tubes we buy as small children for 10 cents each. Haha.

Before heading home, i bought a box of popcorn whereas Kathryn bought some kaya balls and a large cup of sweet corn. I called my dad to get home quick as i forgot the keys. Anyway, went back home in Flor's car again and we poh-pek somemore. I feel like vomiting when eating the popcorn as its a mixture of TOO MUCH margerine and overdose of caramel. Those workers should really go for a diabetic check, simply repulsive for me. It should be BUTTER not MARGERINE. For those who dont' know, i simply can't eat margerine unless its cook with other flavours . Worse come to worst, u can see the crystallized margerine on each popcorn. I feel dizzy now .

Anyways, its good for me to go out as my butt is too long a time stagnant waiting aimlessly at home.

Interesting Names~

I was just thinking about names when i remember people always mistaking my spelling of my name. They always thought it is the same spelling as the mountain Andes because it almost sound alike the name Anders[which is the correct one]. Its also a famous chocolate brand for those cocoa fanatics. Anyway, i was bored so i googled my name backwards, Sredna. What i found out was that Sredna is also a name of a mountain, more specifically Sredna Gora.

The Sredna Gora

In other words, my name be it Anders or backwards as Sredna, it is always gonna sound like a name of a mountain. Hmmmmmmm that explains my body size. Haha.

Shocked Face

Yay! My laptop is repaired. The problem was just improper shut down. Nothing major. Hip hip Hooray!

On another lighter note, i cooked a mean pot of lamb shoulder curry for dinner last night. It really made my day when my siblings thought that my dad bought it from some shop for dinner. They all ask where my dad bought it from. Haha. They didn't realize that i was the cook. You should have seen their shocked faces.

Anyway, yay my culinary skills are improving. Let's hope that when i arrive at curtin my housemates won't go goo-goo gaa-gaa over my food. Nothing fancy this month for now. Haha.

P/S: Use A1 curry paste, works like a charm.

Super Emo Mode

My laptop apparently has some startup problems due to my fault. I feel super emo right now. Apparently, what i did was just shutting it down the emergency way by holding the power supply button to shut it down abruptly. Mind you, it was jammed so i use the quicker way. Now it takes forever to load and even on safe mode it jams too many a time. I feel really guilty and bad right now. So far, i haven't even installed any major programmes of executable files. Parents gave a lecture too.

For now, my "intelligent friend" will be going to the hospital when it is not even up to one week old. I feel bad, REALLY BAD
