Of Red Ribbons

My arms are SORE and ACHING because of the Chinese Ribbon dance practice last night. My muscles in my arm has become bigger and so is my sisters. I think my right arm is gonna be larger than my left before Chinese New Year starts.

at least my arms won't be that flabby anymore. haha

Have to Use Yoko Yoko liao.....

This is my favourite group for Chinese Ribbon Dance. Don't worry I'm using guy ballet arms technique so i'm not graceful. Haha

Dance, Movies, Music~

Yay! Finally i can blog again today. I did so many things this past four days.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Word Power: Rapt
Totally absorbed, carried away by intense joy or love; as, a rapt look.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well as most of you know, last friday was my first Ballroom Dancing Lesson. It was better than I has expected. For one thing, i could be partners with my sister, Lavender as there are no other girls, wahahahaha! Most of them already have a partner or gf/bf . My two teachers were quite impressed with the speed that we dance to the song. I admit it was a faster cha cha beat but we had experienced thanks to line dancing. I've finished 15 out of 20 of the bronze cha cha syllabus. THAT's fast. The fastest couple to learn bronze cha cha syllabus completely was in a month i heard. As usual, i heard the teachers singing praises of my sister because not many children are into dancing , that can remember and execute the steps excellently. I have high hopes for her. Sure she will become quite famous in dancing. I also kena puji lah but i don't want to type what did they puji me of if not some monkey willl start to chatter. Hehe. By the way, the male teacher, Mr.James is 80 years old and he still can manage to carry the female teacher, Mrs. Lucila or Lucia (can't remember)who is 50 years old with one hand. He's strong! Can't wait for this Friday.

On Sunday, went for line dancing and practiced the chinese ribbon dance movements. Mr arms ACHE! Its tiring.

Monday, which was yesterday , i went out with Daniel, Caleb, and Frederick. Initially we wanted monkey kho to go along, but he has no transport. Kesiannya........ Anyway, we went to eat at macdonals. Had the properity meal and a cornetto mcflurry (daniel chia! thanks a lot). We felt prosperous after having a full stomach. Haha.

After that we head down to Star Cineplex to watch,

Yes we watch CLOVERFIELD. I don't recommend it for the faint hearted because it is a thriller. I LOVE the concept but i did find some parts of the show gruesome. If you can't stand seeing gashes of blood, blood from the eyes, and stomach bursting i suggest not to watch it. Oh yah, i've forgotten to ever gruesome monster . I HATE the goth and gory BUT i like the concept. Its kind of interesting to view it from a human's perspective unlike all the superman shows whereby ur not involve and u get to see the whole picture. The movie has no plot. Basically they're running her and there and Screaming for "Beth!Beth!Beth!Beth!Beth!Beth!Beth!Beth!Beth!Beth!Beth!Beth!Beth!Beth!Beth!Beth!Beth!Beth!Beth!Beth!Beth!Beth!Beth!"
I felt so bored at one point and i began shouting like them until i irritated Caleb beside me. There is some comedy points in the show though. But i didn't like the ending . I wanted to know what happened to the monster. The ending was like "i love you! and " i love you too" and they get killed with the camera in their hands. No one i mean from the 5 of them survived. All died. So boring. Basically its like youtube, the whole scenes are recorded from a noob perspective handling the camera. The noob in the show is Hudson who also get killed in the end. So duh....
I like and hate it the same time. Weird huh~

Anyway i found a nice acapella group calles the "The real group" from sweden. Quite interesting. Watch it.

Another nice music i found is a very touching Country Music entitles "Three wooden crosses". I feel like crying when i heard this one. You never know as christians that a small thing we do can affect a lot of people in the future. So i encourage you to always do good deeds!

A farmer and a teacher, a hooker and a preacher,
Ridin' on a midnight bus bound for Mexico.
One's headed for vacation, one for higher education,
An' two of them were searchin' for lost souls.
That driver never ever saw the stop sign.
An' eighteen wheelers can't stop on a dime.

There are three wooden crosses on the right side of the highway,
Why there's not four of them, Heaven only knows.
I guess it's not what you take when you leave this world behind you,
It's what you leave behind you when you go.

That farmer left a harvest, a home and eighty acres,
The faith an' love for growin' things in his young son's heart.
An' that teacher left her wisdom in the minds of lots of children:
Did her best to give 'em all a better start.
An' that preacher whispered: "Can't you see the Promised Land?"
As he laid his blood-stained bible in that hooker's hand.

There are three wooden crosses on the right side of the highway,
Why there's not four of them, Heaven only knows.
I guess it's not what you take when you leave this world behind you,
It's what you leave behind you when you go.

That's the story that our preacher told last Sunday.
As he held that blood-stained bible up,
For all of us to see.
He said: "Bless the farmer, and the teacher, an' the preacher;
"Who gave this Bible to my mamma,
"Who read it to me."

There are three wooden crosses on the right side of the highway,
Why there's not four of them, now I guess we know.
It's not what you take when you leave this world behind you,
It's what you leave behind you when you go.

There are three wooden crosses on the right side of the highway.

Enjoy your week people!

EXCITED!!!!!!

I'm lazy to blog everyday so i'll just do a recap :) . For every blog post i decided to add in a "word power section" so that i can improve my English. I'll try to include the word in my post too.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Word Power: Staid
Steady and serious ; settles ; sober ; as, a staid businessman. Latin stare
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Recap Of the Week:

Sunday
As usual, i went to church and afterwards in the afternoon i went for my line dancing. Nothing much to talk about here except the fact that my father miss his flight back home from Bintulu. He was held up in a meeting there and apparently Bintulu Airport is very strict with checking-in. Remember when you're in Bintulu, DO NOT check-in less than 45 minutes from boarding (lecehnya) . In Kuching International Airport, people check-in 15 minutes before boarding also got. Shows how Bintulu Airport is to narrow-minded.

Monday
This was the day Ivan Tan and I attended Terence's father funeral. Once again, condolence to you and your family and may the peace of the Holy Spirit be upon you. That day, it was also the first time i attended a full-fledged Buddhist funeral. It was an eye-opener. Anyway, its was a time to be solemn and staid. It was hard not to smile and laugh for so many hours when you're around wacky people. Thank God ! Anyway, i SURVIVED in Florence's car . She's the one the chauffeured us to the destination. Don't worry, no broken bones and no heart attack. She's not that fast. I have been in car whereby the driver is from KL and i "tumpang" that car for 3 years okay. At least 80 km/h to 100 km/h

Tuesday
Eat , sleep, eat , television, eat , computer, eat , work, eat, shopping , eat, cook , eat

Wednesday
My Father's great day! Happy Birthday again! That day was also the day i redesign the pamphlet. It looks so attractive and nice now. I'm loving photoshop! Went to siang-siang food court in Tabuan Jaya in the morning for celebration . The "aunties" from EBC who are operating their business there bought a gift and tiramisu(fake) cake for my dad and mee sua with eggs. Eating spree!

Thursday
My sister's great day ! Haha! Two days in a row. Happy Birthday Lavender! Celebrated a supper birthday at Jalan Song food court. Eat again! haha!

Friday
Gonna be my FIRST ballroom dancing lesson . So excited, nervous, scared, and happy at the same time. Couldn't sleep so i typed this post to pass the time. I'm praying that my sister and I can remain partners for the Latin for the meantime. I don't think i want another dance partner yet because i'm used to my sister and besides, a new partner means commitment to her and you must be there all the time(if not how can she dance alone?). I heard the teacher is strict and pushes talented students so that they can achieve perfection. That characteristic of that teacher is the one i'm afraid of. A guy cried because the teacher kept pushing him to achieve perfection (she wasn't pushing physically . what i mean is adding pressure+scolding). BUT she doesn't do that with little children like my sister. I'm just thinking, JUST thinking, if both of us are partners, maybe the teacher will cool off a little on me. Hehehehehehe....... Well , not to brag, its the price we talented people have to pay. Haha. Joking joking...... Really looking forward to learning ballroom dancing and perhaps shed a few pounds before CNY 2008.

Haha! What's in store for the future i wonder.........
More exciting days to come!

Mah Profiteroles

Yeah i'm back to baking today again in the kitchen.
This time i decided to make profiteroles. Profiteroles or cream puffs is one of my favourite pastries of all time. The recipe is quite simple too.

150 g flour
12ml of sugar (1 tbsp)
1ml salt (1/4 tsp)
60g butter
250ml water
4 eggs
1 beaten egg

Firstly heat the sugar, salt, butter and water in a heavy-bottomed pan under medium flame. When it starts boiling, leave the mixture to heat for 2 minutes. After that, add in the flour and lower the flame of the stove. Stir and cook it until the dough doesn't stick to your spatula or when you pinch it. Next, remove the dough and place it in a mixing bowl to cool for 3 minutes. Then add the 4 eggs one by one to the dough. Make sure the mixture is completely smooth before you add the next egg. After that, transfer the dough into the piping bag and pipe the dough onto a grease pan. You may do any shapes you like but remember to leave some space between each piped dough as it will rise and expand. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius and then bake the dough for 35 minutes. Finally, when it is done leave the oven door ajar and wait for another 45 minutes. This is to prevent the profiteroles from collapsing due to the hot air escaping quickly . It will also become soggy.

To be truthful, mine did collapse a little so it is not that big. BUT it still taste great and my home smells delicious because of it. Ahhhhhhhh............ The fragrance of butter, fresh, crisp puffs.... I'm getting hungry as i type this. So here is a picture of it.

Imagine it 1.5 bigger....... But it still looks tempting to it.
Now to find some pastry cream.....hmmmmmm.....

Cheesey cheeselicous~

Since you guys wanted me to blog about cheese cake so i decided to make one. Its not exactly cheese cake but more like a cheese tart(+royal icing). Wahahaha!

So feast your eyes on this pictures. 4 Layers leh......

The picture is not quite clear though. The tarts consist of shortbread, strawberry jam from Philippines, lemon cheese filling, and royal icing on the top. Not bad for me despite the fact that the crust wasn't evenly taken out because i do not have a spring form pan. Its my first time making a baked cheese tart this large. Usually i make the small non-bake(which is chilled to harden) versions such as the blueberry cheese tarts sold in bakery. BUT this one REALLY taste nice and sweet plus a slight hint of lemon zest and tanginess.

Anyone Drooling?

If you want the recipe, don't bother because i take different recipes and modify them. Hehe

Ribbon on the Highway

A week has just flew by just like that. The post-SPM period is like a daze. Each blink of an eye a day will pass.

Anyway, i almost done with the pamphlet ; just adding finishing touches to it. And yeah i'm not joining the slurpee thingy anymore so i'm down with the last two assignments; the newsletter which i have to complete before February and the video which i have about two months to complete it. So what have i done this week? Basically nothing.... Just continuing with my line dance class and church meetings. But soon my boredom will be swept away. If posssible, my ballroom class will start this week. I'm going with my sister! YAY! But i fear that the instructor won't let me partner her because she's shorter than my shoulder. Most female partners exceed the male's shoulder height. Sigh~

3 week Chinese New Year will be coming, and my mom and I haven't even plan for the things to buy and bake ( Yes Kelvin and Loung Huey i got the cheese already , you can start drooling). Speaking of Chinese New Year , a few of us would be performing the Chinese Ribbon Dance in church . Yes you heard me right! C-H-I-N-E-S-E R-I-B-B-O-N D-A-N-C-E. I know that most girl dance it but i doesn't have to be feminine unless you start doing the graceful hand movement and sliding your legs. We're doing kung-fu style .Hehe. Anyway, spinning the ribbon is hard work. It's not easy to twirl the ribbon of about 12 feet for 5 minutes. My arms are sore and i actually develop muscles. YES, Muscles. Most people thing that it is easy but it is not at all. The angle and speed +jumping here and there it really hurts and drain your energy.

You must be asking why i am learning it?
Because is love to dance and want to learn all the dances i can know of.

This post is pretty lo-so . Yeah i'm bored. So now, back to photoshopping.
Tata......

BuSy, BuSy, BuSiNeSs...........

Hi, i finally found time to blog again . Yeah i know i haven't been blogging for more than a year now and i owe u readers out there at least a post this week. Ever since i finished SPM, i thought i would be free enough to blog BUT NO! more things for me to do in the end.

Currently my projects are:
1. Design a pamphlet/flyers for an upcoming June event in my church
2 A promotional video
3. And church newsletter.
4. Slurpee Cup-Design competition?

About the slurpee thing, i'm not very sure whether i'll be entering it but i really do want the Ipod Shuffle. The only drawback is that u have to draw and colour on the form and scan it. But the thing is that want to use photoshop and those neon colours for my design which is impossible. Oh well i might have to think of another design then or maybe not- busy enough already. Hey Loung Huey, maybe this is a great way to promote your tigera? Winner's cup will be used for a limited edition 2008 slurpee cup leh+ ipod shuffle (which i doubt you'll be interested). Go check out pepsi malaysia to those peeps who wanna join.

This month i probably gonna continue my dance class and maybe driving. The list of work and things to do are adding up like a mountain. I'm not exaggerating. I'm also my sisters "tuition teacher" since she never go for tuition class.

Anyway, this blog layout it just temporary and i'll be editing the template soon when i have find time. I just need help with photoshop. Anyone please help me!!!!!!

The problem is : I cannot see my text when i use the type tool in photoshop. BUT the new layer formed has and confirms that the text is on the picture. WHY???? I can't see anything at all. Its invisible. Kapish!

Meanwhile, just enjoy my abstinence from blogging while i get back to my work......
sigh~
